The working principle of a geomembrane welding machine is mainly to heat the bonding area of ​​the geomembrane at a high temperature so that it melts and fuses together and finally forms a firmly welded joint. 1. Electric heating system: The heating temperature of the electric heating wedge adopts closed-loop control, and the temperature can be adjusted continuously. Adjust the corresponding pressure position according to the thickness of the material for welding.

2. Welding pressure adjustment system: can achieve continuous adjustment.

3. Transmission system: adopts upper and lower pressure rollers to drive synchronously, and electronic step-less speed control. The automatic control system is equipped with a speed-measuring generator to adjust the welding speed to keep it constant, which is not affected by load changes. The power is transmitted to the transmission/pressure wheel through a three-stage planetary gear reduction.

Preparation before welding geomembrane:

Prepare the equipment and materials required for welding: including welding machine, geomembrane, welding belt, cutting knife, etc.

Clean the surface of geomembrane: Make sure the surface of geomembrane is clean and dust-free. You can use a cleaning cloth or clean paper towel to wipe the surface. Make sure the welding surface is clean, dry, and free of impurities such as oil, dust, etc.

Cutting geomembrane: Use a cutting knife to cut two pieces of geomembrane into the shape and size required for welding, and the cutting surface should be flat.

Preheating welding machine: Pre-set the welding temperature according to the thickness of the geomembrane to be welded. The general temperature is between 250 and 350℃, and the specific temperature is adjusted according to the material and thickness of the geomembrane.

Geomembrane welding steps

‌Overlap geomembrane‌: Place two geomembranes on top of each other, with the overlap generally being 10-15 cm.

‌Fix geomembrane‌: Place the geomembrane on the welding table, align the welding position, and leave a certain amount of overlap.

‌Adjust pressure and speed‌: Adjust the pressure and travel speed of the welding machine according to the thickness and material of the geomembrane. The general travel speed is between 2m/min and 3m/min.

‌Welding operation‌: Place the overlapping part of the geomembrane into the fixture of the welding machine, and start the welding machine for welding. Pay attention to adjusting the distance between the upper and lower wheels to ensure that the two membranes overlap tightly.

For geomembrane welding, temperature control is extremely critical. Too high is easy to melt, too low is a false weld, and it must be accurately controlled at 220-440℃.

Geomembrane welding quality control

‌Temperature control‌: The temperature of the welding machine should be between 250 and 300℃. Too fast or too slow will affect the welding quality.

‌Pressure adjustment‌: The welding pressure should be moderate. Too large or too small will affect the welding quality.

Bottom flatness: Ensure that the welding ground is flat and free of foreign matter.

‌What is the most suitable overlap width? ‌

The overlap width should be no less than 10 cm to ensure the anti-seepage effect.

Is it necessary to apply adhesive? ‌
