Non-Woven Geotextile

Our products adhere to ASTM standards, showcasing outstanding performance in filtering, isolation, reinforcement, and protection functions.

Non-woven geotextiles utilize PET or PP high-strength fibers as raw materials and are crafted through needle punching or weaving, creating a water-permeable geosynthetic material. This material boasts excellent fabric clearance and adhesion, effectively blocking the passage of fine particles while expelling excess moisture. Its soft surface exhibits robust tear resistance.

QIVOC employs needle punching technology in the production of non-woven geotextile fabric, resulting in a fabric that is soft, plump, thick, and stiff, offering varying thickness options to cater to different usage needs. The material is characterized by high strength, durability, and robust resistance to splitting. It finds widespread applications as a filter layer in underground drainage pipes, for weak foundation reinforcement, and in the construction of shoulder pads for slope protection in various embankment projects.

Non Woven Geotextile Membrane Advantages

nonwoven geotextile fabric exhibit robust performance in anti-seepage, reinforcement, and filtration, offering several advantages, including:

  1. Breathability and Filterability: The material allows for breathability and effective filtration. It possesses thermal insulation, water absorption, waterproofing capabilities, and excellent stretchability.
  2. Comfortable Feel: non woven needle punched feel soft, light, elastic, and recoverable.
  3. Versatility and Productivity: The absence of fabric directionality, coupled with higher productivity and faster production speed compared to textile fabrics, results in a more cost-effective and mass-producible material.
  4. High Tensile Strength: The material exhibits high tensile strength and permeability, making it resistant to high temperatures and aging.
  5. Large Elongation Rate: With a significant elongation rate, nonwoven drainage fabric can adapt to large deformations, providing good permeability in both horizontal and vertical directions.
  6. Porosity and Air Permeability: The material features high porosity, good air permeability, high dust collection efficiency, and a long service life.
  7. Corrosion Resistance: non woven membrane can resist corrosion for extended periods in soil and water with varying pH levels.
  8. Antimicrobial Properties: The material possesses good antimicrobial properties and is not harmful to microorganisms and insects.
  9. Ease of Construction: The lightweight and soft nature of the material makes it easy to lay and construct.

Nonwoven Geotextile Fabric Applications

The versatile performance of non woven geotextile drainage fabric in anti-seepage, reinforcement, filtration, and more positions it as a crucial material widely utilized in civil engineering, water conservancy projects, environmental protection initiatives, and various other applications. Key areas of application include:

  1. Infrastructure: Used in road, silt fence, landscape, highways, railways, embankments, airports, and sports fields to reinforce weak foundations while serving as an isolating and filtering layer.
  2. Waste Management: Employed in landfills, garbage disposals, tailings projects, sewage treatment plants, and waste management areas to provide isolation and filtration functions.
  3. Waterfront Protection: Placed on the slopes of riverbanks, lakeshores, and coastal areas to prevent water erosion and turbidity.
  4. Slope Stability: Increases the stability of gravel slopes and reinforces soil to prevent erosion and freezing damage in low-temperature conditions.
  5. Foundation Isolation: Acts as an isolation layer between artificial fills, rock piles, or material fields and the foundation, serving roles in filtering and reinforcement.
  6. Dam Construction: Used as a filter layer on the upstream surface of ash storage dams or tailings dams.
  7. Water Well Applications: Functions as a filter layer for water wells, pressure relief wells, or baroclinic pipes in water conservancy projects.
  8. Earth Dam Drainage: Employed for vertical or horizontal drainage within earth dams to dissipate pore water pressure.
  9. Geomembrane and Concrete Face Drainage: Used for drainage behind anti-seepage geomembranes or beneath concrete faces in earth dams or embankments.

Non Woven Needle Punched Installation Procedures

Using and installing the non woven needle punched geotextile is straightforward and convenient. Below is a standard construction process.

  1. When laying needle punched geotextile, ensure a smooth and flat installation by using manual rolling, leaving sufficient room for deformation.
  2. Seam treatment can be accomplished through various methods, including overlap, stitching, and welding. The recommended width for stitching and welding is generally more than 0.1m, and for overlap, it should exceed 0.2m. In cases where the geotextile is exposed for an extended period, welding or stitching is advisable.
  3. For stitched seams, ensure a minimum overlap of at least 150mm between non woven geotextile filter fabric, and maintain a stitch distance of at least 25mm from the selvedge (the exposed edge of the material).
  4. Secure the needle punch filter fabric during the laying process using temporary fixtures to prevent displacement during subsequent construction.
  5. After laying the non woven geo fabric, compact it appropriately to ensure full contact with the ground. Conduct a thorough inspection of the entire installation area to verify that the fabric remains undamaged and in its intended position.
  6. Implement additional operations on the construction area as per project requirements, such as soil covering and turf planting.

Precautions for Installation of Nonwoven Drainage Fabric

While the construction of non woven polypropylene geotextile is relatively simple, attention to the following considerations is crucial during installation. Here are specific precautions for non woven polyester geotextile installation:

  1. When cutting polypropylene non woven geotextile, use scissors or a geotextile knife and take care to protect other materials from potential damage during cutting.
  2. During the laying process, prevent the entry of stones, dust, moisture, or other substances that could harm the pp geotextile non woven, block drainage channels, or compromise filters.
  3. After completing the installation, conduct a thorough inspection for any damage. If damage is identified, promptly proceed with necessary repairs.
  4. Typically, horizontal connections on slopes are discouraged, and connections must align with the slope contour without intersecting it, except in areas requiring repair.
  5. When utilizing sutures for joint processing, ensure that the suture line is made of UV-resistant material and exhibits a distinct color compared to the double punched non woven geotextile fabric.
  6. Exercise caution during sewing to prevent soil or gravel from entering the middle of the non woven geotech fabric.
